Implementation of a HSC for collecting gas metering units data at Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Makhachkala was completed

The group of companies "Rustechnology-Mikronika" has completed the final stage of the implementation of a hardware and software complex for collecting and processing data from gas metering units at Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Makhachkala LLC.

During the implementation of the second stage of the project, monitoring was established for more than 350 gas metering units for industrial gas consumers. Information hourly or on the basis of an accident is automatically sent to the server of the HSC.

We have transferred server equipment with the installed software “Secure IoT telemetry data collection platform” to Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Makhachkala LLC. The license agreement is concluded for the period until the end of 2031 and may be extended in the future. Automatic integration with the accounting systems of the Resource Supplier and migration to the new software of archived data from previously installed gas meters equipped with telemetry systems was carried out. Data from industrial and household appliances and gas metering stations is now automatically received into a single "Secure IoT platform".

The software part of the platform is based on the domestic OS Astra Linux and PostgreSQL DBMS. OS Astra Linux contains all the main mechanisms for protecting information, up to the level of "state secret" and has certificates from the FSB, FSTEC, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Thanks to this, complete security of the complex is achieved.

The software "Secure IoT platform for telemetry data collection" developed by Mikronika LLC and used in the implementation of the project is the first and only telemetry data collection platform in the Russian Federation that has been tested for compatibility with Astra Linux OS (certificate No. 3966/2020, joint test report No. 3966/2020 dated 12/28/2020).

A distinctive feature of the platform is the unification of the model for collecting and storing data from a huge number of types and models of Energy Metering equipment from various manufacturers, which allows for end-to-end administration and maintenance of user roles and hierarchies, system scaling.

The data collection system is based on a broadcasting exchange mechanism, in which the driver that specifies the algorithm is located on the server. Thus, any modifications and additions of Metering devices for gas, electricity, heat, water, etc. require only a change in the driver on the server and do not require modification of telemetry end devices and metering devices.

The platform contains mechanisms for streaming Big Data analysis and cross-platform interaction Rest API with token authentication.

Astra Linux OS virtualization tools allow you to remotely broadcast and deploy the complex in new regions in a matter of hours at minimal cost.

The use of secure failover clusters makes it possible to implement ultra-reliable and distributed server systems.

In January 2022, the Group of Companies completed the refinement and testing of the platform for use in clusters based on Huawei servers with Kumpeng processors. The technology makes it possible to completely abandon Intel and AMD processors (due to sanctions risks) and continue to focus on promising Baikal-S processors.

The telemetry hardware was developed by the design bureau NPP Rustech LLC.

Our company provides free of charge to all manufacturers of equipment for energy accounting in the Russian Federation and our friendly countries:

  • adaptation of the form factor of PCB boards;
  • services for calculating the maximum performance characteristics of built-in antennas;
  • server software for production, calibration and verification of equipment.

Rustechnology-Mikronika Group of Companies is the only one in the Russian Federation that has implemented interprocessor distribution of GSM tasks and the metrological processor. The result of the solution was the minimization of energy consumption and the cost of components (up to 3 times lower than analogues), the achievement of maximum reliability with minimal parameters of download time and traffic of communication channels.

Combining the competencies of the specialists of our group of companies in the development of a universal exchange protocol made it possible to use minimally volatile encryption of the data stream, inside JSON packages for stand-alone Resource Accounting and telemetry devices.

The manufacturer of the telemetry units used in the project is Rustekhnologiya LLC, which has been manufacturing standard products in terms of quality and reliability for more than 20 years. The company's quality management complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. All manufactured devices have a special protective wixint coating that allows full immersion in water and full recovery. Currently, the company uses boards coated with immersion gold, which allows for maximum reliability.

The vast majority (80%) of the telemetry units used in the gas metering project at Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Makhachkala, after more than 5 years of uninterrupted operation, have a residual battery charge of more than 50%. None of the devices of eminent domestic and foreign manufacturers of telemetry equipment showed similar results.

At the initiative of our company, rechargeable low-temperature lithium-polymer batteries of domestic production began to be used in industrial telemetry units BBT-2, BBT-8, which made it possible to reduce operating costs in the project by almost 10 times. A number of Russian developers of autonomous systems have adopted the experience of our company and plan to apply a similar approach.

A distinctive feature of the solution is the provision of a prepaid communication channel for the period of use, the reliability of which can be increased many times when using MultiSIM cards from the mobile operator Beeline (VympelCom). MultiSIM technology has been implemented by VimpelCom for operation in unstable communication areas. Such MultiSIM cards are capable of transmitting data if there is a stable signal of at least one (any) Russian mobile operator in the area of telemetry devices.
